If I had one wish, I would wish for people to be able to wake up to the reality of this reality: time, el tiempo, changed constantly by the evolution of the Human Race. If you went back in time to let’s say 1940, you would notice a couple of things: 1) you just traveled back in time!, and 2) time would seem like it was measured by a different set of physical rules. This is because time will carry more weight; each second in 1940 might be 6.7 seconds in 2010. You would walk down a “busy” avenue and realize that their “busy” is soooooo slow. That’s right, you would actually feel the difference.
We don’t account for the weight and change that Human Evolution carries. Evolution=Technology.
Now, imagine there was a time traveler from the future (maybe the year 2080) that came to Tuesday, November 16th 2010 3:10 PM. How would the time traveler feel about our time? Would the traveler feel as though our time is maybe measured by a different set of physical rules? Would the traveler feel like our busiest intersection is soooo slow. Would the traveler feel the weight of our collective drag?
Finally, conceptualize my main point: New Technology will speed up time; in turn, more Humans will spend more time using some kind of device that provides entertainment, news and access to the web…and little by little we’re going to pay less attention to what’s actually going on around us. To a certain extent this has already happened and is evidenced by our acceptance of war, invasion, child abuse (especially in the church), etc. Now think of the year 2080…will our descendants be totally reliant upon the machine? Is a Matrix being created all around you, while you’re too busy with the hardships of life (while, of course, still having time for technology…you’ll live right?)
To me, true independence and free thought is the definition of being Human; all the noise around us is just setting the stage for the complete opposite to “occur”.
